Quitman Garden Club
The Quitman Camellia Show
As “Georgia’s Camellia City”, and the birthplace of the Betty Sheffield Camellia, Quitman and its Garden Club have hosted Camellia Shows since the 1930s. While Quitman’s residents get to enjoy their camellias year-round, the annual show is an opportunity for us to share these spectacular blooms with visitors from all over the country.
The two-day event features judging of hundreds of blooms separated into five classes of camellias; prizes for the best blooms; and camellia-themed merchandise for sale.
Hard work by our members and volunteers, combined with generous financial donations by area companies and local citizens, make this show one of the leading Camellia Shows in the country year after year.
The Camellia Show is open each year to the public on the first Saturday and Sunday of February. Admission is free; your donations are appreciated.
